"I am a teacher, but always had the interest of working in the beauty industry as well. Teaching and the work that comes with it took up alot of my time, and I couldn't reason taking time off from teaching to go and do my esthetics course. I was just researching some options one day, and came across Aglaia Esthetics.

"I grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario with most of my family. After high school I went to school for Social Work but found it just wasn’t for me. I wanted to work in a more positive, fun environment where I could put my artistic talents to use and fully enjoy a career, so that’s when I changed direction and decided to further my hobby of doing nails.

Thunder Bay had a few nail certification courses but nothing to be a full esthetician. I wanted to learn more about the skin and the various kinds of facial treatments too. I decided to search online and came across Aglaia Esthetics. With further reading and contacting Maria for info, I discovered that I would be able to learn from a distance through textbooks, videos and online help from Maria herself. I took the opportunity immediately as the costs were very reasonable and the whole program sounded convenient for me. 

In the middle of me taking the program I became pregnant and had my son.
Maria was very understanding and it was amazing to do these courses on
my own time! I completed the 4 courses and received diplomas for each one after many quizzes, exams and practical learning in a local spa. I am now working in a successful salon with a full clientele!
